Dear Cancer,
We have spent some quality time together in the last three months. It has been a roller coaster of a ride but I think I've outgrown the appreciation for a front seat in any roller coaster. It's not as much fun as I remember them being as a teenager. I vaguely remember throwing my hands up, screaming with glee, and wanting to do it again.
I don't have that same feeling with you. I appreciate the abrupt reminder to take time to smell the roses. The non-gentle way that you reminded me that time is flying by and perhaps I've wasted more of it than I should. I do value the lessons that I've learned from our brief time together.
It still doesn't make me like you. I've decided that you should go back where you came from. And you can return as quickly as you showed up. It will not hurt my feelings one bit. Your quickness will not make me forget you. I promise. No Christmas cards are needed. You will be remembered and I apologize in advance if it's not all in fondness.
Sincerely,
Me

Did Cancer cry when your letter was received? Pack his bags and head out the door? I HOPE SO!
