Cancer Tip #1

Cancer makes you tacky!

Yep, it does. If you know me well, you will know I am a little OCD about matching and things being just right. I am the one that shows up with gifts wrapped or bagged in coordinating tissue, card, etc. Things have to match or it drives me simply insane. It reaches far into my life but I won't bore you with the details.

You also won't see me out in public without a shower, makeup, and presentable attire. I have to be sick, and I do mean sick as a dog, to venture out without being put together. I can go out with bad hair because sometimes you just have bad hair days!

Well...earlier this month I bought Madison's birthday card and gift bag prior to finding the perfect frame. I finally found a frame on my way to her party (nothing like last minute shopping) but left the tissue paper at home. (Cancer also makes your mind go wacko. Mix that with my normal self and it is a combo!!!!) The frame was too big for the bag but I crammed it in there. And the horrors of it all that it was wrapped in the plain, thick Hobby Lobby paper for protection.

This is when I realized cancer makes you tacky! If Kris Carr can write a book with cancer tips, I figured I'd would share mine as well. LOL

I've noticed that I don't always match my pj's and trust me that NEVER EVER happens but I just grab whatever and toss it on. I also went to doctor appointments in sweatpants (ANOTHER NEVER), barely any make up, and glasses. I didn't even try to fix my hair for most of them. Who cares? And why mascara if it was going to run? Contacts stick to your eyes if you cry too much in them. When some of the numbness wore off and I did dress for a test, the sweat pants would have been more appropriate!!! (Just my luck!)

Anyway, yesterday we went to Poppa Ellis's for breakfast. Poppa Ellis would be Matt's dad and for some reason today that name came to me so I'll use that for blogging and updates! ;-) I put a tobaggan on wet hair so you know how purtah my hair was when I removed that hat! I wore red sweatpants**, gray sweatshirt, green plaid flannel shirt that is about four sizes to big for me but so comfy, striped tobaggan, and tennis shoes that are navy blue, gray, and pink!!! (**Rugged Warehouse was out of the earth tones & I like red. I don't suggest them for pants in the public. Not sure why but there is my fashion advice for the day.)

After I consumed two cups of coffee and started waking up, I realized again that cancer makes you tacky. Who wears pink highlighted tennis shoes with red sweatpants? And we all know stripes don't go with plaids! Or YOU SHOULD KNOW that.... fashion advice number two if you were in the dark on that one.

Stay tuned for more tips in the future.... Woo!

Make those fashion statements. I love to dress that way anytime. If I could wear pj's to work I would. I told Don, if and when we ever get to retire, I am going to see how many days in a row I can wear them. New ones and clean ones after a shower but just keep putting pj's back on. Woot
