When I decided to redo the living room, it seemed easy enough. I was wrong! There are so many options out there. I want this. I want that. I need this one for sure. And that is how the story goes for a few weeks. I have to picture something in order to focus on it. I couldn't picture those looks for longer than a minute.
Then I noticed a pattern. One look kept catching my eye but could it work? I wasn't sure. Thanks to surfing the net in a variety of ways and running across Pottery Barn's small space photos, I found this picture. It all started clicking. I was drawn to the white but had no idea if that would work for my stuff until I saw this picture. I have teal & blue pillows and jean throw with those colors in it. I absolutely love the red as a contrast color. Originally I was looking for a red couch and had not thought of just adding red to my current colors as an accent color. The dark wood (small frame on wall) also blends well. Decision made. I'm going with the white loveseat & chaise lounge from Ikea. Tomorrow is the road trip. I can't wait.In the meantime, I have an old chest (maybe an old toy box) that I want to use as the coffee table or behind the couch. I am going to crackle it and use a deep red. Anna sent me a site about crackling which is in my email so I can't link you there right now. It has instructions how to make a coffee table out of vintage windows. I'm going to give it a try. Need to use these windows for something!!!!
The picture in my mind is growing clearer and I'm very eager to get this done. I'll have to wait on the bookshelves for now but it'll come together a little at a time. I should stop stalling and get the rest of the living room furniture out so the carpet can be cleaned this evening. The old has to be removed to make room for the new. ;-)
Please check out the new blog that I am following. I lucked up and found it today when I searched for ways to make a cork board out of an old frame. Since I'm truly killing some time and avoiding the TO DO of the day I checked out her site in depth. I love it! There are so many ideas and great recommendations for some books. Not that I need any more books but I do love them.... I think you'll enjoy her site as well. The frame will be converted and I found some cute push pins at this site. You can probably guess which ones I'll want!!! If you picked camera, paint & celestial, you are correct.
I can't wait to get it all done and upload the pictures. I'm taking my chest, window & frame to Georgia with me so the darling brother can help me with my projects. Pictures then! Now I must get moving. Procrastination is my friend but if I wait one minute more then it shall become my enemy today. *grin*

I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOUR COMPLETED PROJECT. THAT MIGHT CALL FOR A ROAD TRIP ONE WEEK END. I KNOW I CAN'T BE ANY MORE ANXIOUS THAN YOU ARE THOUGH. MAKES ME WANT TO RE-DECORATE.
I have found you now you have to find me. I of course do not know how to cross reference these blogs. I really don't do much on blogger.
Looking forward to pictures of your new re-do
