This simple vintage window coffee table is great wood working project for a beginner. Be sure to use a wood vintage window, because you will be drilling into it.
When a previous landlord updated the windows I hit the lottery... in windows! It worked for me there because I had a full basement to store them in. When I moved to this apartment, I could only take a few. I am not sure how many that I did retain since they are stored in my cousin's storage shed! I need to go get them.
My brother is more talented at this stuff than I am. I am very bad w/ understanding directions. When I go visit in June, I'm going to take some projects down with me. I figure between Dad, Bro & me that we can get them done. I believe I posted about them in the previous blog so I will not bore you with the list again.
It's coming together though and I'm pleased. A really good friend borrowed a Tahoe & we made the Atlanta trip today. What a trip!!! If she hadn't been with me, I would have to return something because I do not know how to tie anything on a roof of a Tahoe!!! I could barely reach the top even after standing inside the door. I kept asking her if it would all fit & she'd say, 'Yeah. I think we can make it work." You should have seen us with the helper guy!!! It was funny but hey we got everything you see in the below picture shoved in and the normal buggy full of items we both had picked up!!!
I hope to have it more along the lines of what I am aiming for but that will be next Sunday when I have some muscles here. The love seat & chaise are usable. I just need the arm attached. The Mighty Mouse Slayer will be slipping into his Mighty Muscle Man role. He can attach the arm, put the media center and bookshelf together.
The chaise DOES NOT attach to the couch like I thought so I'm having to rethink the whole lay out. I was looking forward to the L shape design. I can make it work but I just need to rethink it. Muscles might be moving things here & there for me to see before I decide!!! LOL I will post a picture once it is looking like a living room.
The trip was so much fun. You can't help but be tired when the road trip involved 3 hrs down there, 3.5 hrs inside, loading the huge boxes on the tiny rolling flat beds (which were not big enough in my opinion), scooting one to the register, going back for the other and then the WHOLE scenario of loading it up before the 3 hr drive back. We were super nervous about the tied on place & had already decided if the strings broke & it flew off that we'd just keep going & play dumb!!! It stayed up there so Lynn did a great job.
Thank goodness I invested in a hand dolly that can be vertical or horizontal. It was a breeze to unload. I'm sure my muscles are going to be very angry at me tomorrow after two days of lifting, moving, hauling, etc. Time to go stretch out, relax with the heating pad and get some sleep!
The new furniture will still be here in the morning. I get off at 6pm so maybe I could play with various arrangements since I'm already sore! Who knows? My overhaul project could possibly lead to me getting into shape. One can only wish....
