This is the logo of Breaking Benjamin, which is a rock group. It is his favorite band and one of mine as well. Since he likes black, gray, navy blue & dark green that is what I used. I had the perfect swirls on another canvas but couldn't see the logo to paint it. I messed that one up so had to go to a bigger canvas. I didn't have another 5x7 canvas.
It made me so mad that I couldn't get the same swirly look back. UGH! You can see brush strokes though. I studied it all day yesterday. I was going for a different look. I couldn't get it. I didn't like the solid circle with the solid logo. Then this morning when I was touching up the black, I thought I would use the same technique that I did with the logo. Instead the abstract things took place. I think it pulls it all together.
Today is his birthday so I hope to get it to him today. If not, I'll catch up with him this upcoming weekend to deliver it to him.
This painting does not have a title yet other than "Mike's BB Painting"!! Any suggestions? I don't really know what you would name something like this. I have two more in the works so I will post those when I am done.
